Title: Cavalry Guild Presbyterian Church presents Gilbert & Sullivan’s “H.M.S. Pinafore”
Creator(s): Schuler, Earl, artist

I discovered this is art poster in the online gallery of the Library of Congress. I love the style and the graphic design created by the artist, Earl Schuler for a stage production of the HMS Pinafore in Cincinnati. When I dug a little deeper about the many posters I found, I was pretty impressed that these posters were sponsored by the WPA.

Take some time (30 minutes) today to look at The Library of Congress online gallery.  Find an image or work of art that interests you and download that image. Remember to copy the attribution.

Write a blog post about what you discovered there, including the image and the attribution. (30 points)

After you have finished your blog post – use the rest of class to finish your GIMP assignments. To turn in your finished graphic, go to the file menu on the top of the GIMP menu, go to “export as” and select png. Name the file, GIMP-2.png and make sure you put it in your class folder for a grade.
