We have just 1 assignment using Adobe Illustrator for this class.
1- You need headphones
2- Go to this Adobe Tutorial “Design a logo” . This will use vector shapes to create a logo.
3- Be sure to download the sample files provided in the tutorial
4- When you are finished with the project, name it something like “Bury-Illustrator” and put the file in your assignment folder on Google Drive

What is Blender? Blender is the free and open source 3D creation suite. It supports the entirety of the 3D pipeline—modeling, rigging, animation, simulation, rendering, compositing and motion tracking, even video editing and game creation.
Blender even has some pre-made characters free to download. Let’s take a look at Vincent.

1- Look at this page on Wikimedia Commons showing Tangrams created using Inkscape.
2- Open a new Inkscape Document and make your canvas large enough for 2 Tangrams side by side. Make your own Tangram showing 2 different designs using the same shapes. Kind of like Nevit does here:

Class Activity: Inkscape
I want you to experiment with one more free application for creating graphics. Inkscape is a free to download and use and compares to Adobe Illustrator for making vector graphics.
Your Inkscape Assignment is as follows: Open Inkscape and start experimenting with the tools. Create a vector graphic of your own choosing. You may work on your logo or anything that interests you.
Optional: If you would like step by step instructions for your first project, you may download this How to Create a Cartoon Dinosaur.
When you have completed your Inkscape Assignment, make a new folder nested inside your class folder and name it INKSCAPE. Save 2 files: an Inkscape file (.SVG) and .PNG file.

Use Photoshop to create a graphic about YOU – your logo. You might start with a pencil sketch but then you will need to create a digital graphic of it. It needs to:

•Emotional or Intuitive Cerebral Connection
•Dares to be Original

Photoshop is probably the most used photo manipulation and graphics application in the world. You may find yourself using this application for personal and for professional use. Watch “What is Photoshop” a video produced by Adobe to show the possibilities.
1-Before you start your Photoshop assignment, you need to become familiar with the tool palettes and the interface. Please watch the following video about the tool panels.
2- Right-Click on the following image of two cherries and hit “copy”
3. Open Photoshop from your computer applications folder. Go to the file menu and hit “new”. Photoshop will open a dialogue box. Hit “OK” and a new blank document will open.
4. Now go to the Edit menu at the top and hit “paste”- The Cherries should appear & you are ready to follow along as I demonstrate the way that I created 3 versions of the original image.
Create 3 different versions of the Cherries, using any of the Photoshop tools or filters. Make your own version! When you have completed the project save your original working Photoshop document AND a jpeg version in your class folder. Due Thursday March 30th (50 points)

Class Gallery Show Project
- Open Photoshop
- Open my class folder and download the photoshop file that I have placed in the folder. “ClassGallery-Photoshop”
- Use the Layers Palette, selection tools and any other tools to create a new digital image.
- Add your name to the image, using the Type Tool
- Save the finished piece in your class folder as a PSD, and save a JPEG copy in my drive folder for your class period.
